Community Partnerships

Outreach to Neighbors & Beyond

Jesus calls us to love all our neighbors, and at Saint Asaph’s that call takes shape in a vibrant, year-round commitment to outreach, community-building, and care for creation. This work is not separate from our life together—it is at the heart of who we are.

Throughout the year, we gather and share resources in ways that respond directly to the needs of our neighbors. We collect breakfast bars for the Elkins School in Philadelphia, helping ensure that students begin their day nourished and ready to learn. We organize drives for canned goods and non-perishable items to support ElderNet and the Welcome Table at St. James School. We also provide personal essentials—socks, underwear, and other necessities—for local schools and community partners, offering dignity and care in tangible ways.

At the same time, we are intentional about building community here on our campus as a place of welcome, connection, and belonging. Events like Music on the Porch invite neighbors from near and far to gather, share in music and conversation, and form new relationships. These moments of hospitality are as vital as our service, strengthening the bonds that make true community possible.

Our grounds themselves are part of this ministry. As we steward our gardens and outdoor spaces, we seek to reflect a commitment to caring for creation—offering beauty, rest, and a sense of peace to all who come here.

Together, these efforts express a holistic vision of loving our neighbors: meeting practical needs, fostering genuine relationships, and tending both people and place with compassion and care.

OUtReach Partners

The Church of Saint Asaph’s is deeply committed to partnering with organizations that serve our neighbors and strengthen the wider community. Through our relationships with St. James School and The Welcome Table, ElderNET, the Elkins School in Philadelphia, Episcopal Legal Aid, and Episcopal Community Services, we support a wide range of outreach initiatives that address real and immediate needs.

We regularly collect essential items, contribute financial support, and mobilize parishioners to volunteer their time and talents. Just as importantly, we open our campus as a place of welcome—hosting events, gatherings, and programs that extend the reach of these partners and create space for meaningful connection.

These partnerships are a vital expression of our mission, allowing us to work collaboratively for the flourishing of our neighbors and to participate in God’s work of justice, compassion, and community-building.

Sustainability & Creation Care Team

Our team works in three defined areas: the Saint Asaph campus; children's education; the implementation of congregational and community sustainable actions.

In the past we have built raised-bed vegetable gardens on the campus, educated our community on ways we can be more sustainable at home, hosted speakers and other events, created and distributed reusable totes.

And we always host an informative and fun family-friendly Earth Day event! (See our calendar for more details!

Sunday Greeters

Every Sunday we welcome all who enter the church for worship. We hand out programs, help those who need it find a place to sit, answer questions about the buildings, campus and invite new visitors to help us get to know them.

Our Greeters Team also attend special church occasions from Art Openings, Music Concerts to extra liturgical events held Saturdays or weeknights. Our goal is to help all feel welcome.
