Arts & Culture

Each of us brings elements of our own cultural experience when we gather as a community. Through music, visual arts, culinary celebrations, and so much more, we believe that arts and culture are vital threads in the fabric of our communal life. Our worship gatherings, performing artist concerts, art shows, classes, and retreats all draw on creative energy as a form of spiritual practice. In fact, innovation and creativity are highly valued here.

We aspire to cultivate a community that naturally attracts individuals who are eager to express their own creativity or who delight in appreciating the creative expressions of others. Our community canvas is alive with a diverse, energetic population—full of people who are both interesting and deeply interested.

Art Gallery

The Gallery at St. Asaph’s showcases the work of local artists throughout the year, with exhibits that change monthly. Our gallery, located in the Parish Hall, offers an inviting venue for artists and serves as a welcoming gathering space for the entire community. Art openings at the gallery are lively and engaging events, further strengthening the bonds of creativity and community that we celebrate.

Classical Music

At St. Asaph’s, classical music finds a natural home. Our beautiful Gothic Revival sanctuary offers an inspiring setting for both worship and concert events. The flexible seating creates an intimate atmosphere for smaller ensembles, while the acoustics invite listeners into a deeper connection with the music. Regular guests such as The Kairos Trio and The Monteverdi Quartet, along with many others, bring the rich sounds of classical music to life in our sacred space.

Music on the Porch

Join us the last Friday of each month from May to September for a lively gathering of community and music! Local musicians bring a variety of styles—from jazz to folk and more. Bring a lawn chair, pack a picnic, and join us from 7–9 p.m. at the Rectory.

Choral Music

Our Parish Choir is a choral ensemble made up of professional section leaders and parishioners. This community welcomes everyone to join in strengthen their own musicianship and help to draw out the spirit in each of us. Rehearsals take place on Sundays at 12 noon, following the morning service, with a brief warm-up each week at 9 a.m. before the liturgy. All are welcome!

Students grow in musical knowledge and confidence while enjoying the joy of singing together.

Layla Wa -PASSAGES OF TIME

April 5 (Easter Sunday) through May 3, 2026

Opening Reception: Friday, April 10, 2026, 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Passages of Time presents Layla Wah’s multimedia collage work, rooted in the spirit of “wabi sabi”—a quiet return to simplicity, balance, and the beauty of the natural world. Using elements such as handmade paper, tree bark, dried petals, seeds, and found objects, her pieces weave together organic materials with paint, ink, and gold leaf to create layered visual narratives.

Wah’s work is both evolving and contemplative, reflecting nature at every scale—from the intimate to the expansive. A lifelong artist, poet, and writer, she brings decades of creative exploration to this exhibition, where visual art serves as a grounding counterpoint to her literary life.

Bringing Your Culture to Share with Our Community

Every culture present here helps deepen our faith and broaden our understanding. We invite you to share yours with us.
